Katsina State Governor Dikko Umaru Radda on Thursday swore in Mutawakkil Mustapha Salis as an Honourable Khadi of the Katsina State Shari’a Court of Appeal, stating that the appointment is aimed at strengthening the state’s judicial system and improving the delivery of justice.
The swearing-in ceremony was held at the Government House in Katsina and attended by officials from the executive, legislative and judicial arms of government, members of the State Executive Council, traditional rulers, Islamic scholars and family members of the appointee.
Radda said the appointment followed what he described as a merit-based selection process conducted by the Katsina State Judicial Service Commission.
“This appointment strengthens our judicial system and improves the delivery of justice to our people,” the governor said.
He urged the new Khadi to uphold integrity, fairness and impartiality in the discharge of his duties, reminding him of the oath of office.
“Justice must be served without fear or favour,” Radda stated.
The governor described the judiciary as the last hope of the common man and said public confidence in the system depends on the integrity and diligence of judicial officers.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the judiciary and promoting cooperation among the three arms of government to ensure peace, order and justice in the state.
Among those present at the ceremony were the Secretary to the State Government, Abdullahi Garba Faskari; the Commissioner for Justice and Attorney-General, Fadila Muhammad Dikko; and the Grand Khadi of Katsina State, alongside other dignitaries.
